Rohan's Temporary Nursery Setup
We have set up a temporary nursery area for Rohan in one end of our living room. He will sleep with us at night (in the co-sleeper Pat and Stone sent us) but during the day he can sleep in the crib here (from Ken and Michelle Womble of Grasshopper Lawncare).
We've got a changing station with all the supplies and a diaper pail complete with filter and fan, too (thanks to Sameer's co-workers). All his clothes and blankets, etc. are lined up in little baskets.
You can see the car seat Gaby sent us under the changing table, too. I've already got the base installed in my car, and there's another base that will go in Sameer's car, so we can just lift the seat portion in and out as needed. We set up the mobile Pat and Stone sent us for the crib. It plays soft music or jungle sounds and the little animals at the top rotate under the leaves. When we set up the crib like this, I just wanted to get in and go to sleep myself!
The changing table and shelves here had been Sameer's workstation. We decided not to buy baby furniture and just make do with what we had as much as possible. I enjoy the challenge of that, and this stuff is actually among some of the first items I got when I moved to Gainesville in 2002.
One major thing we did buy was a proper vacuum cleaner. We just had a little cordless one that was totally ineffective on carpet. It's a bit of a pain dealing with the bigger, more cumbersome vacuum cleaner, but seeing the floors so clean is worth it!
