A Beautiful Horse Remembered

Sad news... last week Sarakenos passed away at the age of 21. She was expected to have at least 10 more years of happy horse days, but a bout of colic claimed her life after a painful struggle that lasted over 24 hours.

Mom and Beth, we're so sorry for your loss. Though I didn't know Sara that well, I always enjoyed her quiet, agreeable manner when I was visiting home. Beth and Sara won many shows together over the 18 years they were together, and Sara was loved by everyone in the horse world who knew her.



Mom sent this nice poem out to all those came to show their support and try to help Sara through her colic, including two veterinarians who were working round the clock attending to Sara and the other horses in need those few days.

Never think of me as dead . . I've just gone on ahead . . .
and the Love you gave to me I will carry through eternity.
Keep me always on your mind by loving others of my kind.
Do not linger in your grief . . . just hold onto this belief . . .
That when it's time for you to come this way . . .
I'll be waiting for you on that day.
